Glambots are now hugely popular during awards season, especially in the US, but did you know Spline helped put together the first ever French Glambot at the 2020 César Awards? We filmed every winner of the 45th ceremony in all of their slow-motion glory, using our motion control Sam and our highspeed camera Phantom VEO 4K.
Film moving portraits of all the winners of the 45th César's Awards, during the live ceremony!
Given the size of this event and the talents' minimal availability, sorting all the logistics beforehand was paramount.
We scouted and reconstructed the venue in 3D, to visualize where and how we could set up our booth to get the best results.
Camera movements and lighting were previsualized for approval weeks before the event!
Early on we had to ensure we wouldn't intefere with the media junket already in place.
We suggested several setups with measurements and pictures to help the clients and the venue team understand and greenlight the space we would use.
Motion control preparation was also completed to refine technical details and create an efficient post-production workflow.
Our director on set helped guest feeling comfortable and was supported by a small production and post-production crew.
On events like the César Awards you have to get your content out as fast as possible. That's why we opted for an on-set post-production facility using a dedicated high-bandwidth network.
Shooting a talent would take 1-2 minutes. Our director on set helped the actors feel comfortable and was assisted by a small crew. Thanks to our post-production workflow, we were able to offload, edit, color-grade, add motion design and render in less than 10 minutes, so that the final film was ready to publish online moments after the Glambot!
All that was possible thanks to a solid preparation and combining clever technology and human skills.
