ORGANISATIONAL CHALLENGES

PRE PRODUCTION

What was initially dedicated to post-production is transferred to pre-production here.

We crafted different environments upstream the shooting in a previs and techvis, getting a clear artistic and technical overview on earlIest steps of the project.

A new workflow

Real-time production comes with new workflows :

As the 3D work steps get into the shooting itself, the initial organisation changes on set.
There is a fusion of different expertise that are traditionally separated by time.

As a VP line producers, setting strong connections between those different stages allowed us to streamline and secure the project artistically and financially.

LED WALL STAGE IN USE

3D Challenges

One of the biggest deals for real-time 3D is the conformation :
Our job was to set the right balance between photorealistic look on 3D assets and effectiveness for real-time performance

On set, camera movements were synchronised with the 3D environment to get a parallax effect on screen.

Real time liberty

In addition to real props on set in foreground,
3D assets can be moved in the virtual background. Directors are free to fine tune the scene to go further into the realism of the shot.

As an example, the ceiling of the virtual sets are a major lighting part. Thus, the sky of the 3D environments could be fine tuned on set to change the atmosphere in real time very quickly.
